In this episode, I’m sharing ten of the biggest lessons, perspectives, and principles that have shaped the way I move through life ... so far.
These are the concepts I continue coming back to - reminders that help ground me when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or disconnected. Some of them challenge the way we typically think about success, fulfillment, fear, and growth, while others are simple shifts that have deeply changed my day-to-day experience.
Inside this episode, I share:
- The top ten lessons that have supported me most on my journey
- The perspective that has become my number one guiding principle
- What the phrase “we eat on the level of our vision” really means
- Why personal growth is not about perfection, but awareness
- The importance of staying open as your beliefs and understanding evolve
One of the most beautiful parts of life is that we’re always growing, learning, and expanding. The lessons that resonate today may deepen tomorrow, and new ones will continue to emerge as we evolve.
This episode is an invitation to reflect on the beliefs and perspectives currently shaping your own life - and whether they’re truly supporting the experience you want to have.
I hope there’s at least one idea in this conversation that gives you a sense of peace, perspective, or possibility.

In this episode, you will learn:
- The journey George shares that lead to the successful life he leads today
- His thoughts on why quitting is not an option
- That every journey has it's obstacles
On the latest episode of the La Jolla local, I had the opportunity to interview George Hauer, who is best known for George’s on the Cove. This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants because it is three-tiered, and feels special no matter if you’re going for dinner or just drinks!
A bit more on George, he has lived in La Jolla since 1978, making him as about as local as it comes. Beyond co-founding the amazing restaurant that we know and love today; George is a founding board member of The La Jolla Community Foundation whose mission is to encourage civic engagement and pride through local philanthropy. He has a passion for supporting the La Jolla community overall which he has done so in various ways over the past few decades, often through his own personal funding.
One thing I’ll say about George is that he has a happy, fully present demeanor, which you don’t generally find from an owner of a restaurant as they're generally trying to do a zillion things at once. Setting the stage for the interview, I was sitting facing their lovely ocean view from the California Modern bottom level restaurant while Frank Sinatra played at the most appropriate level. Even interviewing him was an experience! Listen in to hear about how George got his start in the industry, the twists and turns along the way, and why for him, quitting is just not an option.

In this episode, I’m talking about happiness, self trust, and the importance of learning to listen to yourself instead of constantly looking outside of you for answers.
We live in a world full of opinions, expectations, timelines, and pressure around who we should be and what our lives should look like. Over time, it can become so easy to disconnect from ourselves and forget that no one else can truly define what fulfillment, peace, or joy looks like for us.
Inside this episode, I share:
- The two areas of focus that have helped me reconnect with joy
- Why learning to trust yourself changes everything
- The challenge of trying to live according to everyone else’s expectations
- My number one practice for grounding myself when life feels overwhelming
- Why putting yourself first is not selfish, but necessary
This episode is a gentle reminder that you are the only person who has to live your life - which means only you can truly know what feels aligned, fulfilling, and supportive for you.
The more connected you become to yourself, the less you need the outside world to tell you who to be.

In this episode, you will learn:
- What lead Tracey to switch up her path after achieving what she 'thought' she had wanted
- What she knows for sure
- Her take on why "it's never too late"
On this episode, we interview Dr. Tracy Taddey, D.D.S. and the owner of the La Jolla Dentist off Prospect Street in the La Jolla Village, which just celebrated 45 years in business. Following in the footsteps of her grandfather and father, Dr. Taddey obtained her B.A. from New York University, and is a third-generation dentist. She began her career at Elle Magazine in New York City as a Beauty and Fashion Editor, researching health issues for articles, and it was there where she realized she wasn’t on the right path. Instead of sticking with a career and life that wasn’t fulfilling to her, she took a chance and left it all behind to pursue Dental School and a path that she knew was more aligned with who she was . Today, Dr. Taddey is honored to be voted BEST DENTIST for 2019 in La Jolla Light Readers Poll and for many past years she has consistently been voted among The Best Dentists in La Jolla in both The La Jolla Light, and the La Jolla Village News newspaper reader polls. She is also a member of several local and national dental societies including the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association, and is an Alumni Board member of University of the Pacific Dental School. She volunteers her time at schools educating children on dental health and participates in community health projects providing care for children in need. She runs competitively and enjoys participating in Half Marathons and Marathons, including The Boston Marathon 2019.
I really enjoyed getting to know Dr. Tracy, as she is warm, inviting, and a very genuine person. Listen to hear her journey on the path to success, and why “It’s Never Too Late”. Enjoy!

In this episode, I’m talking about the idea of “there”- the belief that life will finally feel better, easier, or more fulfilling once we achieve the next thing.
For so many of us, we spend our lives chasing future milestones while unintentionally missing the life that’s happening right in front of us. The next achievement, next amount of money, the relationship, house, or the version of ourselves we think we need to become before we can finally relax and enjoy our lives.
But what if life isn’t actually waiting for you somewhere else?
Inside this episode, I share:
- How to recognize when you’re living for the future instead of the present moment
- Why so many of our goals are tied to feelings we believe they’ll give us
- The conversation that made me question my own definition of success
- Why external achievements can’t create lasting fulfillment on their own
- How to begin enjoying your life now instead of waiting until you “arrive”
This episode is a reminder that your life is happening now - not someday, not once everything falls perfectly into place, and not once you finally become enough.
You are allowed to enjoy your life while still having desires, goals, and dreams.

In this episode, I’m sharing a perspective shift around success, achievement, and the pressure so many of us live under without even realizing it.
For a long time, I tied my worth to productivity, results, and external milestones. I believed that once I finally achieved enough, arrived somewhere, or proved myself, then I would feel fulfilled, confident, and at peace.
But what if success was never meant to look the same for everyone?
Inside this episode, I share:
- Why success is deeply personal and not one size fits all
- How our thoughts and beliefs shape the way we experience our lives
- The hidden pressure behind constantly striving for “more”
- Why achievement alone can’t create lasting fulfillment
- The reminder that your worth is not something you earn, it already exists
If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of constantly chasing the next thing while still feeling like it’s not enough, this episode will invite you to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters to you.
You don’t need to wait until you “make it” to begin enjoying your life.

In this episode, I’m sharing more of my personal story - the unexpected experiences, challenges, and turning points that ultimately led me to the life I live today in San Diego.
So often, we resist what’s happening because it doesn’t look how we imagined it would, but looking back, some of the moments that felt the hardest or most uncertain ended up guiding me exactly where I needed to go.
Inside this episode, I share:
- The unexpected chain of events that led me to move to San Diego
- What life experiences taught me about trust, surrender, and resilience
- Why I believe things can still be working out for you, even when it doesn’t feel like it
- The perspective shifts that helped me move through uncertainty and obstacles
- A more personal look into my journey and the lessons that shaped me
If you’ve been questioning your path, feeling discouraged, or wondering if things will ever come together, I hope this episode reminds you that life may be unfolding in ways you simply can’t fully see yet.
Your life is not over because things didn’t go according to plan. Sometimes the detours become the very thing that leads you home.

In this episode, you will learn:
- The approach Kera uses to overcome life's obstacles
- The story behind how she became the successful Owner and Sales Director of the La Jolla Sports Club
- What does she know for sure, and more!
I recently had the opportunity to connect with the fabulous Kera Murphy, who is the Owner and Sales Director of the La Jolla Sports Club off Fay Avenue in the Village. With over 23,000 Sf, 85 weekly classes, a staff of over 63 fitness professionals, steam rooms, infared saunas, even chilled eucalyptus towels. Kera and her staff do not skimp in any way when it comes to providing service to their members.
In addition to all this, she is also successfully operating three other businesses including SanDiego.com, KLM hair design and her nonprofit for animals and children, The Promising Future Fund.
As you can already guess, Kera is one driven gal, but beyond all that, she is also kind and confident, while still maintaining an approachable sense and is realistic about life. After growing up on a produce farm in upstate New York with her mother, listen in to hear what one decision drove Kera to leave behind what some would call the perfect life, selling all of her belongings and moving out to La Jolla, and we’re so glad she did. I loved recording this episode, so listen in to learn more about Kera, what she knows for sure, and how she has overcome the obstacles in her life by ‘Just handling it’. I hope you enjoy this episode of The La Jolla Local as much as I do.
